Maamba Energy Limited (MEL) is jointly owned by Nava Bharat Singapore Pte. Limited and ZCCM-IH pic. The Company owns and operates a large-scale coal mine and has also constructed and operates a 300 Mega Watt Coal fired Power Plant to cater for the growing demand for power in Zambia.

Job Title: Music Teacher

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of music theory, vocal and instrumental techniques, music history, and performance skills. The Music Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where students can develop their musical talents and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lesson Planning & Delivery: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating music theory, performance, and practical skills.
• Collaborative Teaching: Work closely with Class Teachers to create a holistic, interdisciplinary learning experience for students. Contribute to the overall development of students within a supportive educational environment.
• Individualized Instruction: Provide tailored support to students to help them improve their vocal and instrumental abilities, both individually and as part of larger group performances.
• Event Preparation: Organize and prepare students for school concerts, recitals, and other musical performances, ensuring that each event is a memorable and enriching experience for both students and the wider school community.
• Classroom Management & Support: Foster a positive, respectful, and productive classroom atmosphere while promoting safe work practices and encouraging student engagement.
• Professional Development & Collaboration: Work as part of a team to continually improve the music program and take part in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching methodologies and music education trends.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ level credits or better.
  • Diploma in Music Education from a recognized institution (A degree in Music Education is preferred).
• Certification & Licensure:
  • Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and hold a valid practicing license.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in Music at the Primary School level is essential.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Personal Attributes:
  • Strong presentation skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Passion for Education:
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a strong commitment to their overall well-being and educational development.
