JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for the Strategy, design, Implementation, and maintenance of the physical in-country network for Airtel Zambia Pic to achieve Network Coverage and Quality leadership, and to guarantee that the network is scalable while ensuring a world class customer experience, meeting benchmarked Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensuring Regulatory compliances are met. Directs the activities of the OPCO network operations including planning, quality, resource allocation and operations. Co-develops policy and strategy to ensure network operations goals are met.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
REQUIREMENTS

Drive strategy formulation and provide strategic leadership and direction to the Networks function.

Facilitate establishment of high levels of reliability and redundancy in the networks.

Institute a robust quality improvement plan as well as a Business Continuity Plan.

Develop a long-term Network Deployment strategy with the objective of improving Capex Productivity & introducing new technology.

Forecast Network Capacity requirements and Network Quality Management.

Drive the collection of business inputs, technical utilization trends and forecast.

Ensure standardization of the network quality processes for
consistent customer experience.

Ensure world-class Customer Experience by providing relevant support to stakeholders.

Formulate and implement the technology architecture for global delivery in partnership with group that will service current and projected customer base, ensuring coverage maximization and capacity optimization.

Key partner and stakeholder management that includes governmental and non-governmental agencies internal business leaders, strategic outsourced partners, technology partners etc.

Supervise Regulatory and Local Authority compliances by ensuring timely submission of reports, applications, and execution of regulatory norms.

Ensure capability development of the Employees and high employee engagement.

Monitor and ensure an excellent network that will increase efficiency and profitability while optimizing CAPEX and OPEX.

Review partner performance to ensure on-time and accurate delivery.

Monitor voice of customer, complaints, and Inputs from other sources/survey results.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Bachelor of Engineering degree (communication, electronics, or related fields)

Sound knowledge of Mobile Network Planning, Optimization and/or O&M

Analytical, statistical and Presentation skills
-
RNA
-
Network QOS KPIs Management
-
Thorough knowledge of eTOM framework
-
Strong Understanding of ITIL Processes

Strong Understanding of the TMN framework
-
NW security and related regulations understanding
-
NW International standards understanding
-
Good Understanding of revenue impact.

Ability to build hypothesis using large data sets and statistical tools to derive business insights.

Ability to Anticipate & forecast technology requirements within domain in the long term & its direct & collateral impact.

Ability to Prioritize investment in infrastructure, talent etc. accordingly.

Ability to define the industry benchmark.

Ability to innovate and cause positive digital disruption. Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
-
15-20+ years of varied experience within Telecom Industry preferably in GSM/CDMA Network.
-
Minimum 5+ years in managing entire Network functions. • 10+ years’ experience in Partner management/Service Management.

Solid Experience in managing muti-vendor environment.
