Nurse Receptionist
CONTRACT TYPE: Full Time
CFB Medical Centre, a premier private hospital in Lusaka, is seeking a dedicated and professional Nurse Receptionist to join our dynamic Outpatient Emergency Department.
Job Summary
The Nurse Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by efficiently managing the reception area within the emergency department. This position requires a compassionate and organized individual who can handle administrative tasks, patient queries, and appointment coordination while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities.

Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the OPD emergency reception, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.

Manage patient appointments, registrations, and inquiries while providing accurate information and guidance.

Maintain and coordinate doctors’ appointment schedules to enhance service delivery.

Ensure proper filing and organization of patient records in line with hospital procedures.

Handle all incoming and outgoing calls, directing them appropriately within the hospital.

Assess patients at the reception area, identifying urgent cases and alerting medical personnel accordingly.

Assist patients with inquiries related to medication, wound care follow-ups, and general healthcare information within the scope of non-practical nursing duties.

Coordinate emergency response efforts by facilitating communication between departments.

Maintain up-to-date patient admission records to support operational efficiency.

Uphold strict confidentiality in all matters related to patient care and hospital operations.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) or designated authority.
Minimum Requirements & Attributes.
Minimum Qualification:

Registered Nurse, fully registered with the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNC).

At least 3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a private hospital setting.

Strong administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Proficiency in hospital information systems and general computer literacy.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment.

Demonstrated professionalism, empathy, and customer service orientation.
