The
key purpose
of this job is to take the Strategic lead for the maintenance function in Packaging and to lead related Strategic Initiatives ensuring Corporate Governance for equipment and system integrity through the application of and adherence to relevant Standards and Legislation.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Ensure safety, healthy & environmental legislation compliance

Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in workshops, artisan workstations and at place or work

Develop employees
-
Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate

Manage and apply personnel practices
-
Maintain system integrity and change control
-
Maintain and calibrate packaging mechanical plant and equipment including instrumentation integrity
-
Ensure application documented standards
-
Develop and update engineering standards through the Zone
-
Ensures a high quality of workmanship is attained from the maintenance team
-
Plans in place to implement the various maintenance pillar blocks
-
Sustain what has been implemented

Optimise use of planned maintenance system
-
Apply formal failure analysis process
-
Apply relevant engineering spares strategy
-
Project completion on time and in budget
-
Manage budgeting process
-
Control departmental costs
-
Review financial results
Profile:
-
BSc Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree
-
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Production Maintenance Management with deep expertise in asset management
-
Experience of managing and running a high-speed packaging line highly advantageous
-
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing people
-
Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a packaging hall (financial, operational,
-
people)

A superior performance track record indicating a disciplined work ethic with passion at maintaining quality

Mental alertness and analytical ability
-
Managing people ability as well as ability to drive performance
-
Leadership ability (ability to lead planners, controllers and a full engineering team)

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to develop and control budgets

Ability to implement appropriate HR processes to manage, motivate and develop

Ability to manage complex projects of significant number

Ability to facilitate problem solving in a team forum

High level of resilience and ability to operate in a high-pressure environment
