This role is responsible for assisting in the implementation of activities related to routine landscape maintenance of grounds on all company premises, such as weed or vegetation control, waste collection, drainage cleaning, and pest control for all company infrastructure facilities. This role will report to the Supervisor – Parks & Gardens.
Key Accountabilities

Undertake general maintenance of parks, gardens and playing fields ensuring quality of works to specified standards.

Requisition for chemicals, materials, tools, equipment and machinery for maintenance of parks and gardens.

Conduct mulching and fertilisation of plants using approved fertilisers and chemicals to manufacturer’s specifications.

Undertake activities for the irrigation/mowing of lawns, cleaning of drainages and control of vegetation and pests.

Organise and deliver material supplies, tools, equipment and machinery for the works and utilise, maintain and service them efficiently.

Record the stock of chemicals and supplies for maintenance of parks & gardens and ensure that they are adequate and available at all times.

Treat plants from all diseases and ensure correct application of herbicides.

Undertake bioremediation activities of all contaminated elements and ensure correct disposal of industrial and domestic wastes from company premises.

Operate parks & garden equipment and machinery for mowing and transportation of materials etc.
To be considered for this role, you will be required to have:

Minimum Grade 12 Certificate with related vocational skills in Horticulture or Agroforestry.

Three (3) years post-graduate experience.

Knowledge of maintenance operations concerned with landscaping and general cleaning.

Knowledge in the use and maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery used in maintenance of turf and other horticultural works.

Knowledge of various methods of tendering and management of plants.

Knowledge of various chemicals used in botanical processes as well as control of herbs and pests.
