Job description:
Purpose
The role involves overseeing the management of materials, supplies, and inventory required for the maintenance in alignment with the forecast maintenance activities, ensuring that materials are available on time with the right quantities and quality through collaboration with various sections using standard established procedures
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor inventory levels of Rotable spares and other spares required for maintenance activities and expedite when levels are running low
• Management of Rotable spares’ cycle through the Rotable Application System by tracking progress through conducting regular physical checks, material movements, tagging and serialization
• Collaboration with warehouse to expedite Rotable spares repairs with the vendors highlighting any delays
• Data analysis and trending on Rotable spares performance to identify opportunities for improvements, cost saving and vendor performance
• Verification of material specifications, safety data sheets, vendor information, ensuring that all repair works done on Rotable spares are in conformance with such
• Communication of potential changes in Rotable spares material specifications between the end user and the Rotable team including drawing office so that drawings are updated accordingly
• Liaise with long term planning team for major plant outage material requirements and follow up through a 4 monthly forecast
• Management of ANSIs
• Preparation of reports relating to Rotable spares
Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate a must
• A Diploma in Mechanical or any relevant trade in Engineering field
• A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Rotable Planner or Materials Coordinator preferably in mining operations
• Conversant with CMMS tools such as Pronto, SAP, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Packages: Word, Excel, Project, etc.
Added advantage with hands-on experience on the fixed plant in maintenance practises on units such as Gearboxes, Conveyors, Mills, Pumps, Compressors, Crushers, etc.
