Job description:
Purpose
Provide planners with direction in the creation of work packs and schedules for plant breakdown, routine, and shutdown maintenance spanning between 3 and 24 months’ outlook. Assign, coordinate, and manage resources for the efficient completion of shutdown and weekly maintenance, minor capital projects, and maintenance support service.
Key Responsibilities
Operational

Adhere to all pertinent requirements, policies, procedures, and legal requirements pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as any other regulations as necessary by the company and relevant to the role and responsibilities.

Apply all workplace safety procedures and continually promote a work culture of safety practices.

Manage work priorities on a daily basis, ensuring that activities are undertaken in accordance with business needs.

Mentor and lead planners to produce detailed planned work orders and schedules using the KMP Pronto CMMS.

Manage and develop the creation of weekly, equipment overhaul, and shutdown schedules through Microsoft Project.

Participate in or facilitate reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) audits and analyses.

Control information in PM tasks in Pronto as identified through RCM analyses.
-
Keep the Maintenance Planning Specialist informed on progress and specific job problems.
-
Control the creation and modification of standard job information in Pronto.
-
Develop continuous improvement strategies, communicate them, and apply them accordingly.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of maintenance processes and systems.
-
Develop and maintain the equipment strategy workflow process.
-
Achieve maintenance targets in the most cost-effective manner within budget.

Ensure that all PM activities are fully specified and recorded in Pronto.

Ensure work orders are sufficiently planned, with resources and steps detailed to the point that a competent artisan can carry out the work.

Conduct regular audits and onsite inspections of planned work activities to gain efficiency and operational planning improvement intelligence.

Provide personal forward work load projections and identify in advance periods of over and/or under commitment.

Participate in RCM reviews and subsequently update information in Pronto tasks.

Manage the preparation of standard job descriptions for work of a repetitive or complex nature with the Maintenance Planning Specialist.

Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance department reports on section activities together with the Planning Supervisor and Maintenance Planning Specialist.

Assist in the preparation of technical procedures, work instructions, equipment, and systems evaluations
Qualifications

Grade 12 Certificate
-
Minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Related Engineering Field
-
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of maintenance planning and engineering experience in the mining industry.

Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.

Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
