Reporting to the Supervisor – Electrical, you will be responsible for assisting the Supervisor – Electrical in establishment of preventative and responsive Electrical maintenance and development within the process area and across the site, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• In cooperation with the Supervisor – Electrical, will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all fire protection and suppression systems.
• Carry out planned and unplanned work as directed by the Supervisor.
• Perform maintenance on control circuits, fire communication circuits (fiber optic), and control panels.
• Installs, construct, modifies, connects, and repairs Ziton fire control panels, smoke detectors, VESDA systems, battery chargers, power supplies, and FM200 gas and foam suppression systems.
• Utilizes various measuring and testing instruments to work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.
• Determine malfunctions and return equipment back into required operating condition.
• Reading electrical diagrams, installation of fire protection equipment, and working from drawings.
• Performs several types of diagnostics with test equipment.
• Achievement of maintenance compliance targets in the most cost-effective manner
• Positively impact and contribute to the company’s performance through leadership and individual activity.
• Splices cables, repairs, or replaces fire protection equipment, keeps records on various equipment.
• Work alongside our ERT in conducting routine functional tests and develop reports for insurance submissions.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade twelve School certificate
• Minimum Craft /Advance certificate in power Electrical from recognised learning institutions
• Ziton or any fire protection testing and commissioning certificates highly regarded.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s licence
• Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia
