Job Description
The incumbent will support provision of prevention activities at the facilites in the assigned network. They provide TA and strengthen provision of PrEP, GBV, CaCx, VMMC and STI prevention services and ensure that CIDRZ-DHAPP achieves the project objectives. She/He will provide expert advise for individual cases as needed.they will take poart int eh reporting of prevention activities.
Main duties
Coordinate and supervise facility based staff to implement quality cervical cancer screening and treatment programs in the DHAPP supported facilities in the region.
Support the facility Cervical Cancer Focal Persons and teams to strengthen referral linkages with effective feedback and ensure those women who need follow-up after screening with VIA or HPV DNA testing or referral for advanced care such as loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) and histopathology evaluation receive the referral services appropriately.
Monitor the facility teams and work with the DHAPP/DFMS HTS Officers and other technical teams to ensure effective and quality integration of HIV testing, care and support services into the Cervical Cancer screening program including HIV Testing Services (HTS) for all women accessing Cervical Cancer screening services and referral to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) services for HIV positive women.
Support the integration of Cervical Cancer screening in fast track and 6 Months multi dispensation model to ensure all women on ART are offered Screening
Work with professional counselors at facility level to train and support the community based volunteers to facilitate and promote Cervical Cancer screening awareness in
eligible women living with HIV. Ensure that the Cervical Cancer screening program is implemented in accordance with the current Cervical Cancer screening and treatment guidelines.
Support and work with the Strategic Information teams in collecting accurate data and promote use of data generated at facility level by facility based cervical cancer focal
persons and facility staff. Support and ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) systems are effectively integrated into the programs in the region
Supervise staff in the completion of all MC activities.
Conduct procedures as needed and adhere to procedural and national guidelines.
Ensure all clients return for their review dates, 2 days 14 days and 6 weeks after procedure.
Maintain infection prevention in all operating rooms according to standard guidelines.
Maintain Infection prevention in all MC sites as per guidelines.
Identify, manage and refer all AEs as per guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Supervise and mentor all other MC members of staff DHAPP
Always maintain strict client confidentiality and privacy.
Coordinate other prevention activities including GBV, PrEP and condom distribution
Qualifications
Grade 12 Certificate
Degree in nursing/ Clinical Medical Sciences
Must be registered with relevant medical body and have a valid Practicing License.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in HIV programming and coordination.
At least 3 years in HIV prevention program
Basic training in Cervical cancer screening with VIA
At least 2 years’ experience in managing and implementing cervical cancer screening programs
Ability to coach, mentor and develop technical capacity in VMMC program
Experience in working with communities to mobilize support for health services.
Broader understanding of current national cervical cancer screening and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment interventions.
Experience in facilitation and training applying adult learning principles and practices, clinical mentoring, and coaching.
Experience with program monitoring and evaluation
Must be computer literate
