The University of Ndola is a Proposed University established to operate in the City of Ndola right in the Central Business District along Buteko Avenue Opposite Savoy Hotel. The Ndola University (Proposed) is a yet to be registered Higher Learning Institution with the Higher Education Authority (HEA) as a Private University College mandated to train students in various Diplomas and Degree programmes. As it rolls out its presence on the Copperbelt and beyond, The Ndola University (TUN) (Proposed) has embarked on recruitment of critical staff of high caliber to fill vacant positions. 1.0 JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL
JOB PURPOSE
The Principal is the Chief Administrator of the University College as such will be responsible in driving the vision of the university in line with the Strategic plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Driving, the implementation of the vision, mission and agenda of the institution as set by the Board of Directors

Responsible for the oversight and management of the operations and administrative aspects of the university college
-
Lead the strategic development of the university by aligning strategy to local and regional priorities.

Advising the Board of Directors on the educational character, mission and values of the college.

Carry out the decisions of the Board of Directors and provide policy directive of the institution

Provide leadership in resource mobilization for the institution and control the utilization university resources by applying them in appropriate areas to enhance operation of the university,

Ensuring quality provision balances with financial sustainability
-
Ensure efficient academic administration by monitoring all academic activities in collaboration with respective academic heads of departments.

Direct the planning for the recruitment of competent lecturing staff with relevant qualifications in all programmes.

Playing a key strategic role in collaborating with stakeholders and other higher education institutions to elevate the university’s profile.

Ensuring organizational effectiveness, governance and compliance
Qualification, Experience and Skills
-
Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 O’ Levels which includes English Language and Mathematics.

Bachelor of Science in any Medical Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Public Health.

Master of Science in Any Medical Sciences or Master of Science in Public Health
-
An earned Doctor of Philosophy in any medical Sciences.

Minimum of Five (05) years’ experience in the medical filled preferably one with work experience in Higher Learning Institution.

Must provide proof of valid membership to a professional body

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Good planner, organized and visionary leader.
