Job Purpose:
The Projects and Maintenance Engineer will oversee the management and execution of the company’s CAPEX and OPEX projects. The role ensures compliance with all statutory, group, and company-specific HSSEQ requirements and standards while driving operational efficiency and maintaining company assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ):

Implement and uphold high safety standards in line with the company’s HSSEQ policies.

Act as HSSEQ focal point for the Lusaka depot and an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member.

Ensure all projects and installations comply with statutory and group standards, including ZS385 Part 3 and other government requirements.
Project Management:
-
Design and develop retail site plans in collaboration with the Marketing team.

Secure statutory approvals for CAPEX and relevant maintenance projects, including installations for B2C, B2B, LHC, Lubricants systems, LPG rehabs, and more.

Prepare tender packs with input from Marketing, Administration, Finance, and other departments.

Deliver projects on time and within budget, maintaining compliance with all regulations.

Vet contractors to ensure they meet statutory and company KYC requirements.
Asset Management and Maintenance:

Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all company assets.

Ensure all company fixed assets are tagged and traceable in collaboration with the Finance department.

Maintain accurate records of projects and maintenance activities, both electronic and physical.

Provide maintenance services for facilities and resources based on operational expectations.

Supervise schedules and planned maintenance activities across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Coordinate with internal teams such as B2B Sales, Lubricants, Retail Sales, Finance, and HSSEQ.

Liaise with external entities like contractors, customers, the Energy Regulation Board, ZEMA, local authorities, and other statutory bodies.
Additional Responsibilities:

Conduct facility monitoring to anticipate failures and implement diagnostic activities.

Administer first aid and fire-fighting measures when necessary.

Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Full Grade 12 Certificate with five credits, including English and Mathematics.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Minimum of five years’ experience in the construction industry (experience in filling station construction is an advantage).

Proficiency in AUTOCAD and other technical/project management tools.

Computer literacy in business applications.

Valid driver’s license.
-
Fluent in English.

Prior experience in the oil and gas sector is an added advantage.
