Background:
The Food Security through Agri-based and Resilience Market Solutions II (FARMS 2) Project is funded by the Australian government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), through ADRA Australia and implemented by ADRA Zambia, as the local partner for 5 years (2024-2029). The project overall objective aims at empowering 4000 smallholder producers (mostly youths & women) in Nyimba, Petauke, Lusangazi, Mambwe, Sinda and Chipangali, Eastern Province, Zambia, with sustainable economic growth through efficient production, value addition and marketing and community-led built climate resilience.
Project Coordinator (01)
Position Overview
The Project coordinator will support overall project delivery across the 6 districts by coordinating the activities working through the district field officers and other support officers. He/she will be responsible for coordination of and reporting project field activities. He/she will work closely with both public and private actors to ensure critical services are provided to the SHF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitate content development of easy-to-read training modules/IEC materials.

Implement and coordinate project activities in target areas not limited to training in climate smart production practices and value chains enhancing, including market linkages.

Establish lead farmers (ie., demonstrations plots) to increase uptake of climate -smart technologies – resilience building and environment stewardship etc.

Promote efficient service delivery through multisectoral engagements (state and non-state actors)

Coordinate district-level meetings with relevant stakeholders and partners.

Preparation of progress reports (quarterly, annual, final)

Enhance project outputs quality assurance and community feedback mechanisms.
Required Qualification and Experience:
-
A degree in Agribusiness, Rural development, Agronomy, Development studies, or related field with at least 4 years demonstrated relevant field experience in implementation of climate/livelihoods/food security/economic empowerment initiatives.

A good understanding and sensitivity to issues associated with poverty, hunger and environment and knowledge of the context to which non-profit organizations operate.

Proven experience, skills/knowledge in Agribusiness, Smallholder Production, Market Systems Approach

Demonstrated experience adapting project implementation and activities to achieve targets in a timely manner as needed.

Willingness and enthusiasm for working with rural and vulnerable communities in remote areas.

Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence with SHF and partners.

Team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.

Proficient in MS word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail software

Fluency in oral and written English (required) and local languages.

Registered with relevant professional institutions.
Station:
PIU, Petauke, Eastern Province with frequent travel to project sites, including other districts as required.
Contract:
Annual (Renewable on performance)
Other Valued Criteria for All positions:
1. Be a person of high moral character all time and is willing to conform to the mission, values, and beliefs of ADRA
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing skills, presentation, and public speaking
3. Be willing to comply to ADRA Policies on Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Gender and Disability Inclusion, Anti-fraud, Community Response Mechanism and Environment Protection among others
