Job Description
Musekese Conservation is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join its team as a Project Coordinator. This role is a blend of leadership, supervising, mentoring and coordinating across the Mumbwa GMA in the Greater Kafue Ecosystem. As the Project Coordinator, you will be primarily situated at Deployment Site recently constructed in the Mumbwa GMA to provide strategic, technical and administrative support and guidance to the resource protection operations in the Mumbwa GMA. This role involves working closely with team members, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure programme goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.
Primary Outputs

Set the agenda, facilitate discussion and document the outcomes of team meetings, turning them into hubs of energy, action and collaboration.

Manage the internal circulation of meeting outcomes and other internal communications to the team and assist in compiling content for newsletters and other external communication materials.

High attention to detail in scheduling and movements of the programme within the Mumbwa GMA.

Develop, maintain, and regularly update the programme’s data and documents, ensuring all team members have the required relevant access.

Support the development of adaptive management skills among team members, leveraging available resources and continually improving adaptive management processes through testing and iteration.

Maintain, update and implement SOPs for the operations specific to the GMA.

Develop and implement processes and procedures related to fleet and equipment management to include the ordering, procuring and managing of this essential equipment.

Understand the programme’s data needs and work with the resource protection teams and the research and monitoring team and external resources to ensure data is effectively collated, organised and communicated both internally and externally.

Actively monitor workflows, action items, and any bottlenecks hindering conservation work, liaising with the appropriate parties to remove obstacles and resolve challenges.

Coordinate and collaborate with other conservation partner organisations across the GKE to ensure consistent and coordinated approach to resource protection across the Greater Kafue Ecosystem.

Coordinate participation in relevant public conservation-related events, including organising staff involvement and managing the procurement and delivery of marketing and publicity materials in collaboration with the relevant teams.

Requirements
To be successful in the role of Project Coordinator, you should possess:

At least 2 years of practical experience working in conservation.

At least 2 years of experience working in Southern/Eastern Africa.

Experience in conservation technology such as SMART and Earth Ranger.

Experience in a management of others.

Excellent spoken and written English, working knowledge of languages local to the programme areas is desirable.

Willingness to travel to and work in remote conditions, with limited access to communications and modern amenities.

Ability to manage all administrative aspects of the organisation.

Good understanding and use of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Good report writing and presentation skills with high attention to detail.

Experience with managing relations with local communities and government departments.

Minimum bachelor’s degree required with master’s degree or equivalent work experience desirable.

Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid Driving license with off-road driving experience, a willingness and ability to drive long distances.
Renumeration
Negotiable based on experience and to be discussed with the successful candidate.
