BACKGROUND: Project HOPE seeks a Project Director to oversee a potential GAVI-funded immunization project in 4 countries (Haiti, Malawi, Nigeria & Zambia). The overall goal of this project will be to accelerate the number of girls reached with HPV vaccination, the following objectives of the revitalization have been set: 1) accelerate quality introductions; 2) rapidly improve global and national coverage; and 3) generate long term programmatic sustainability through building and integrating HPV vaccination within routine delivery mechanisms and into Primary Health Care (PHC).

The position is contingent on award. Local nationals from possible position locations (Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria) are strongly encouraged to apply.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Director will provide vision, leadership, and direction to ensure the strategic, programmatic, technical, and financial integrity of the project. S/he will be responsible for the overall program leadership, management, and technical direction of staff and project activities. S/he will serve as key liaison with GAVI, government, and local partners. S/he will manage and supervise the work of program personnel and subcontractors/subgrantees and ensure that all program assistance is technically sound and appropriate. S/he oversees program work planning, performance management, and strategic communication.  S/he will provide oversight to country leads in each of the four countries of implementation and coordinate project-wide activities.
