Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Integrated Project Scheduler – FS (Fixed Term) to join the versatile Lumwana expansion feasibility study team under project engineering – FS Section. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the FS study in coordinating project schedules and a master schedule for the Lumwana expansion project.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Manage specialist projects as required.
-
Develop, manage, update, and monitor individual project schedules and integrate in overall master program schedule.

Provide the project team with decision, support, and tracking schedule reports.
-
Provide planning and scheduling activity input data for monthly meetings and reports.
-
Assist in monitoring reviewing and analysis of project schedules which are incorporated into the project master schedule.
-
Incorporate resources required and cost control into project schedules.
-
Liaising and interfacing with contractors, especially the appointed engineering consultant, operations personnel, construction, and management regarding planning and scheduling activities.

Track critical activity deliverables in master schedule and update accordingly.

Attend project kick off, progress, cost control, and weekly planning and contractor meetings, and implement changes in the master schedule accordingly.

Ensure that the mine planning group are providing the required level of service to the project.

Meet with project owners and contractors and provide assistance in the proper development of their detailed schedule to meet project requirements that will be integrated into the overall master schedule.

Develop objectives for sharing common infrastructure and support services across Barrick and cascade this throughout function.

Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the function.

Become actively involved in Barrick’s aims and objectives of engaging with the local community and strive to leave a positive impact on the longer-term outcomes for local people.

Set up a process for effective project schedule updates.
-
Must attend engineering technical meetings and be able to interpret to a reasonable extent the scope of work and apply it to the schedule build-up and/or progress update reporting.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Full Grade 12 certificate
-
Diploma in any Engineering field
-
Must have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, MS Projects & Primavera P6
-
Understanding of critical path and its effect on a schedule.
-
General knowledge of schedule risk analysis.
-
3-5 years’ experience in EPC environment, experience in mining industry would be added advantage.

Experience with site construction scheduling.
-
