Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Project Manager – Lumwana Housing and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Development to join the versatile Lumwana Management team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible to oversee the development and execution of Lumwana housing Development project along with the development of the SEZ. You will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, commercial teams, suppliers, town council and government officials to ensure that project is completed on time.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
– Manage all aspects of Housing project execution including but not limited to schedule development and management, budget development and management, internal approvals, design and construction document production and RFP processes
– Manage all aspects of the development of the SEZ including but not limited to schedule development and management, budget development and management, internal approvals, design and construction document production and RFP processes
– Responsible for ensuring project is executed within defined schedule
– Review all proposed Housing plans and construction documents to identify possible value engineering and cost reduction opportunities
– Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget
– Coordinate and manage all aspects relating to the housing project
– Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation for the planning and implementation of SEZ infrastructure and housing project.
– Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
– Manage project resources, including contractors and subcontractors
– Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion
– Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including government officials and employees
– Identify and address any project-related issues or challenges
– Prepare and present project status reports to site and AME Leadership team
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering or commercial field.
– Minimum of 10 years in the construction industry, preferably in residential or housing projects.
– PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred.
– Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD).
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
– Proven leadership and team management skill
