Job Description

CIFOR-ICRAF
The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) envision a more equitable world where trees in all landscapes, from drylands to the humid tropics, enhance the environment and well-being for all. CIFOR and ICRAF are non-profit science institutions that build and apply evidence to today’s most pressing challenges, including energy insecurity and the climate and biodiversity crises. Over a combined total of 65 years, we have built vast knowledge on forests and trees outside of forests in agricultural landscapes (agroforestry). Using a multidisciplinary approach, we seek to improve lives and to protect and restore ecosystems. Project Manager – Z4ABC Project

Overview

The purpose of the job is to provide overall management of the Zambia for Agroforestry, Biodiversity and Climate – Z4ABC project. The key tasks include planning, executing, and monitoring the project to meet requirements while controlling budget, scope, and timeline. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by CIFOR-ICRAF in the Lower Zambezi, Luangwa and Nyika corridor of Zambia.

Requirements



Education, knowledge and experience

•Holder of a relevant degree in project management
•Project Management Professional – PMP Certification is an added advantage.
•At least 5-10 years practical experience in managing complex and multi-partner projects
•Experience with managing EU funded projects is an advantage.

Terms and conditions

•This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency, commensurate with skills and experience.
•The duty station will be in Lusaka, Zambia CIFOR-ICRAF Offices.
