NACRO is inviting applications for 2 positions of Project Officers for the Savings Group Project to be based in Petauke and Katete Eastern Province of Zambia
1. PROJECT OFFICERS
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Programme Assistant, the Project Officer is responsible for the day-to-day planning, implementing, managing monitoring and reporting of the Savings Group Project that will aim at empowering vulnerable women with skills and knowledge to establish and engage in profitable businesses. The Project Officer will be fully responsible to establish Savings groups and ensure the proper and effective function and operation as per the expected project outcomes. Project Officers will ensure financial inclusion of vulnerable groups that create access to the financial services through regular technical guidance and supervision support.
(b) Major duties and responsibilities include:

Undertake community vulnerability assessment and process in target communities to define community gaps and provide basis for planning

Facilitate planning, organizing, and management of village savings and loan associations (VSLAs)
-
Train front-line staff and the clients on VSLA principles, procedures and actions, financial literacy and recording, and related topics.

Develop work plans (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly) to ensure effective implementation of VSLA and related activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan.

Identify and/or form and mobilize local structures such as VSLA groups, financial institutions and marketing groups in the villages and district.

Conduct assessment on financial service providers, and challenges in reaching vulnerable groups.

Link the VSLA groups to Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) and Micro Financial Institutions (MFI) services for further financial access.

Facilitate the identification of village level VSLA agents to enhance community awareness and ownership/sustainability of VSLA approach.

Ensure the full participation and engagement of key partners, donor, Government offices, the community, and target clients in all stages of program management cycle.

Consolidate/compile monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports and special events showing achievements, lessons, constraints, and recommendations and submit to supervisor on agreed time.

Carry out quarterly/annual review meetings to assess performance of activities against set targets at the community and program level.

Conduct assessment using FGDS, KIIS, etc tools and collect and document the impact and benefits of the action on the client’s lives and write success stories.
(b) Qualifications

5″0″ levels grade 12 certificate
-
Diploma in Social Science while Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences will be an added advantage
Certificate of proficiency in Project Management

Must be a licensed motor rider with “A” motorbike class with more than 7 years riding experience.
1. RELEVANT JOB EXPERIENCE:
Seven (7) years of experience in NGO or related Sector, 4 years of which must be in the area of community engagement, livelihoods and working with women groups.
