VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: PROJECT SECRETARY – FS (FIXED TERM)

Lumwana Mining Company Seeks To Recruit a Highly Committed Employee For The Position Of Project Secretary – FS (Fixed Term) To Join The Versatile Mineral Resources Management Department – FS Section. We Are In Search Of An Individual Who Can Champion Barrick’s DNA By

Reporting To The Project Manager – FS, You Will Assist With Various Administrative And Secretarial Tasks Including But Not Limited To

• Taking of project meeting minutes (technical and executive), and the distribution thereof.
• Compiling and formatting feasibility documentation, including project reports and presentations.
• Coordinating project team communications.
• Coordinating diaries, meetings, and workshops.
• Logistical and travel arrangement coordination, including flights, accommodation, visas, workshop venue’s, transfers etc.
• Travel desk coordination for the team and any visitors.
• Coordinating data management and information transfer, including setting up and maintaining filing systems, document logs and action item lists.
• Control and management of project documentation to meet project and procedural requirements.
• Assist with presentation formatting to create a highly professional and consistent company and Project image.
• Very proficient at speaking and writing in English, and assisting others to express their thoughts in clear simple language.
• Assist in creating an environment that encourages high levels of organisation.
• Formatting of documents and presentations to create a consistent and professional Project image.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate
• A Secretarial Certificate / Diploma
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a project environment as a Secretary / Administrator.
• Basic knowledge of project management principles.
• Experience or exposure to project document controlling will be an advantage.
• Fully conversant with MS Office Suite and SharePoint
• Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and show a commitment to understand local culture and impart your mining operations and technical knowledge to subordinates.

Organization

The Lumwana copper mine is a conventional open pit (truck and shovel) operation. It’s located about 100 kilometers west of Solwezi in Zambia’s Copperbelt — one of the most prospective copper regions in the world. Lumwana ore, which is predominantly sulfide, is treated through a conventional sulfide flotation plant, producing copper concentrate.
