Reporting to the
Site Engineering – Superintendent
, The Projects Coordinator will oversee and manage the successful planning, execution, and completion of mining-related projects. This role involves coordinating schedules, resources, and teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced mining environment.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones.

Work with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
-
Set up project tracking and ensure schedules are followed.
-
Coordinate the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project demands.
-
Track project budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-efficiency.
-
Prepare and present budget reports to management as required.
-
Act as a central communication point between project teams, contractors, and management.
-
Facilitate regular meetings to keep teams aligned and address issues proactively.
-
Develop and distribute project updates, progress reports, and critical information.
-
Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
-
Address challenges such as supply delays, safety hazards, and weather-related interruptions.
-
Ensure contingency plans are in place to minimize project delays and disruptions.
-
Track and document project progress against milestones and performance goals.
-
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for stakeholders, including senior management.
-
Use project management tools and techniques to maintain detailed project records.
-
Ensure that all project activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
-
Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety practices and provide feedback to teams.
-
Work with safety officers to address and correct safety concerns promptly.
-
Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
-
Work with the project team to eliminate bottlenecks.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following essential requirements:
-
Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, Civil or related field.
-
Minimum of eight (8) years mining experience in Project planning, implementation and coordination.
-
Prior experience in supervising a team more than ten people.
-
Prior experience with SAP will be an added advantage.
-
Holder of a valid driver’s License.
-
Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
-
An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
-
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
-
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
-
Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
-
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner
-
Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia
