Zambia Cargo & Logistics Limited (ZCL) was established in April 2001. ZCL is a wholly owned state enterprise of the Government of the Republic of Zambia, supervised by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) based in Lusaka. The Company’s current corporate Head Office and its main operating centre, Mukuba Depot, is located in Kurasini area, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania next to the dockyard.

Essential job functions

The Company is then looking for suitable candidates to fill in the open vacancy positions for the Freight Forwarding unit in our office located in Ndola, Zambia. The unit will be responsible to develop and implement strategies for efficient freight forwarding operations, oversee and manage the freight forwarding activities, ensuring that strategies are in place to guarantee the availability of financial resources for its core business and sustainability of new partnerships and collaborations.Re

2.0 REGIONAL FREIGHT FORWARDING OFFICER (2) POSITIONS

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities

1. To plan daily and weekly transport capacity requirements
2. Create long term business relationships with local and foreign transporters
3. Source quality transport capacity for all freight corridors as required by the company’s customers
4. Ensure all the necessary requirements are met by all the booked transporters
5. Send daily tracking reports to customers
6. Monitor the performance of each transporter engaged by the company
7. Manage end to end freight project activities
8. Advise customers regarding all the required documentation for effective delivery.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

1. Diploma in Business Administration or Transport and Logistics or relevant Qualification

2. Five years experience, Understanding of required movement documentation on all regional corridors including neighbouring countries such like DRC, Mozambique.

3. Additional qualification in customs clearing will be an added advantage
4. Experience in freight forwarding is a must.
5. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, resourcefulness, initiative, tact and ability to cope with any situation
