About the role:
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve national sales targets and expand the company’s customer base. The role involves leading and mentoring a team of regional sales executives, analyzing market trends, and driving business growth through effective distributor/channel partner management and retail execution.
What you will actually do:

Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

Forecast sales volumes across regions and product categories.

Identify opportunities for growth, market expansion, and product penetration.

Lead, coach, and motivate regional sales executives and their teams.

Set performance targets and regularly monitor achievements.

Identify training needs and ensure capability building within the sales team.

Develop a robust distribution network across urban and rural markets.

Manage relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and stockists.

Ensure optimal availability and visibility of products across all retail channels (GT/MT).

Drive execution of trade promotions and in-store activities.

Ensure effective use of sales automation tools and data-driven decision-making.

Monitor and control sales budgets, discounts, and schemes.

Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional strategies.

Analyze sales trends and market share to identify potential risks/opportunities.

Provide actionable insights to product and marketing teams.

Prepare and present regular sales reports and business performance reviews to top management.

Ensure timely data collection from the field and proper reporting structures.
What you Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Business / Sales/ Marketing /or Commerce.

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales.

Strong knowledge of Africa’s FMCG distribution and retail ecosystem

Strategic thinking and problem-solving

Strong leadership and team-building abilities

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics tools

Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively
