The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, Teaching Profession Act No. 5 of 2013. The mandate of the TCZ is to provide for the regulation of teachers, their practice and professional conduct.
The institution has one (1) vacancy for Registration and Licensing Officers (TCZ 05) in Kasama, Northem Province and is now inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to apply for the positions.
REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OFFICER, TCZ 05 (1 POSITION)
LOCATION
The successful candidates will be based in Kasama, Northern Province
JOB PURPOSE
To supervise the registration and licensing of teachers in order to promote professionalism and improve education service delivery.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Registration
: Supervises effectively the registration of teachers in order to ensure that practitioners hold the required qualifications.
2.
Licensing
: Supervises effectively the licensing of teachers in order to facilitate practice in line with standards and regulations.
3.
Continuing
Professional Development
: undertakes effectively the coordination of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to ensure that practitioners acquire current knowledge and skills.
4. Library and Information
: Supervises effectively the provision of technical library and information services for teaching professionals in order to facilitate the acquisition of professional knowledge.
5.
Supervision
: Supervises effectively human and material resources in order to facilitate attainment of set objectives.
6.
Performance Management:
Supervises effectively the development of work plans and implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
i. Applicants must be aged between 25-45 years;
ii. Full Form V/Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate;
iii. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or its equivalent; Two (2) years minimum experience:
iv. A registered member of the Teaching Council of Zambia with a valid practicing license.
