Job Title: Relationship Manager – Emerging & Business Banking X6
Reports To: Head of Emerging & Business Banking
Location: Head Office, Lusaka

Job Purpose
An Emerging and Business Banking Relationship Manager will understand the SME market, foster strong relationships, assessing financial needs, and delivering tailored financial solutions to help SMEs grow and succeed.
Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with SME clients.

Serve as the primary point of contact, understanding their business needs and financial goals.

Identify potential SME clients and develop strategies to onboard them.

Work to grow the portfolio by attracting new clients and increasing business with existing ones.

Analyse the financial health and creditworthiness of SME clients.

Prepare and present credit proposals to the credit committee or relevant authority.

Offer tailored financial products and services (loans, credit lines, etc) that meet the specific needs of SMEs.

Monitor and manage the credit risk associated with the SME portfolio.

Ensure compliance with internal risk policies and external regulations.

Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to provide insightful advice to clients and the bank.

Provide high-quality service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
Skills and Competencies

Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and financial products tailored for SMEs.

Ability to assess the financial health of businesses, identify risks, and make informed decisions.

Strong sales skills to attract new clients and negotiation skills to close deals that benefit both the client and the bank.

A client-centric approach with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by SMEs.

Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
Educational Background
-
Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

Certifications such as Certified Credit Professional (CCP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or similar can be advantageous.
Experience
-
3-5 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related field, with a focus on SME Banking or Corporate Banking.

Proven track record in managing client relationships, especially within the SME segment.

Experience in credit analysis, risk management, or loan processing is highly valuable.
