The Judiciary is an arm of Government established under Part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is “To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner”. In order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancy.

1. Research Advocate (JSS09-A) x 14 (Annual Basic Salary of K201,981.24)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will be required to report to the Registrar -High Court Administration and will be responsible for the following duties:

i. Undertake effectively the identification of case law and materials on particular subjects in order to facilitate analysis;
ii. Undertake effectively preparation of legal opinions on matters referred by the Judge in order to facilitate adjudication;
iii. Undertake effectively the drafting of summaries of cases before the court in order to facilitate decision making:
iv. Undertake effectively the provision of case support to the Judge on the progress of cases in order to improve the efficiency of the Chamber,
v. Undertake timely the preparation of reports and minutes of meetings and discussions attended by the Judge in order to provide a record; and
vi. Undertake effectively the drafting of speeches and presentations on behalf of the Judge in order to facilitate their preparation for meetings and conferences.
