Job Description

Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is a nationally registered NGO working with development projects within the field of climate change mitigation and adaptation, environment, agriculture, education, health, poverty alleviation and Human Rights programs. Projects are carried out in all the provinces of Zambia reaching over 1,1 million people. Key funding partners include the Government of Zambia, national and international development organisations as well as private sector organisations.

Objective of the position:

The selected applicant will support DAPP Zambia in identifying funding opportunities, conduct meetings with potential partners and will develop project proposals and support project start-up.

The position is based at DAPP Lusaka Partnership Office with occasional travel.

General Requirements:

Education/knowledge:

– Graduate university degree in Development Studies or related field.

Work experience:

– Vast experience in development of project applications including establishment of the project idea, proposal writing, development of budgets and log frames.

– At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience in project implementation.

– At least 2 years’ experience in management/ coordination of projects.

– Minimum 2 years’ experience in project oversight managing/ coordinating the implementation of development project(s).

– Experience in direct working relationship to bilateral / multilateral donors, partners and agencies.

Skills and competencies:

– Demonstrated hands-on knowledge in developmental/ social project programming, development and writing project proposals and understanding of the resource mobilization processes.

– Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.

– Managing internal and external relationships constructively, diplomatically and with discretion.

– Adaptability, resilience and ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure.

– Positive and enthusiastic attitude to development and to DAPP Zambia’s work.
