Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and continuously improving the Rotables Management Program across Lumwana site in alignment with the Barrick Rotables Management Standard. You will be accountable for ensuring quality-controlled repairs, proper serialization, warranty follow-up, internal repair capabilities, and effective SAP-based tracking systems. The role ensures that both the HME and Process Plant areas are supported with a robust and cost-effective rotables strategy.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following :

  • Drive implementation and compliance with the Barrick Rotables Management Standard across the site.
  • Establish clear and auditable procedures for inclusion, removal, and management of items in the rotables pool.
  • Set up and maintain rotables yards in accordance with defined standards.
  • Ensure compliance with reliability-driven objectives, including tracking MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) and supporting RCA processes.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC processes across the repair lifecycle.
  • Ensure comprehensive teardown, NDT, and reassembly reports are captured and archived.
  • Standardize acceptance criteria and test processes for all repaired components.
  • Audit suppliers and internal facilities to verify compliance with repair scopes and quality requirements.
  • Implement and maintain a robust serialization process for all components in the rotables pool.
  • Champion SAP usage for rotables tracking, work history capture, repair cycle visibility, and cost traceability.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data integrity and reporting functionality in SAP for rotables.
  • Define, monitor, and enforce turnaround time targets for all offsite repairs.
  • Ensure that turnaround KPIs are clearly incorporated into contractor agreements and OEM repair contracts.
  • Track contractor performance against agreed turnaround timelines and escalating non-conformance when necessary.
  • Monitor and manage warranty terms, follow up with OEMs on warranty claims, and escalate disputes where required.
  • Develop, finalize, and manage rotables repair agreements with OEMs and other key suppliers.
  • Reduce external repairs by developing internal repair capabilities using either LMC-owned resources or contractors.
  • Scope, justify, and commission necessary facilities and tooling to bring suitable repair tasks in-house.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and OEM representatives to optimize rotables performance.
  • Provide technical support for rebuild scopes, supplier performance assessments, and failure investigations.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotables management, preferably within a mining or heavy industrial environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of repair processes and supply chain cycle.
  • Familiarity with tools such as FMECA, RCM, RCA, and CMMS systems (SAP).
  • Experience with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong negotiation skills, communication, leadership, and safety management skills.
  • Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
