Job Summary:
Chisamba Crest Solutions is looking for a dedicated Safety Officer to promote and ensure a safe working environment for all employees. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing safety policies, conducting training sessions, and ensuring compliance with local and national safety regulations. Your role will be essential in fostering a culture of safety within the organization and minimizing workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and best practices.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees to ensure awareness and compliance with safety standards.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
• Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports, ensuring that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations and policies, addressing non-compliance issues as necessary.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulations, making recommendations for improvements to safety practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management or a related field, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is preferred.
