Job Description
Job Purpose :
To promote and sell AMAC’s seed varieties (especially climate-smart hybrids such as AMAC 614 and AMAC 618), provide agronomic technical support to farmers and agro-dealers, and ensure market penetration and customer satisfaction across the Central, Copperbelt, and Northern Provinces.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Sales & Marketing

Promote and sell AMAC seed products to meet set monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with agro-dealers, distributors, cooperatives, and smallholder farmers.

Conduct product demonstrations and field days to showcase seed performance and benefits.

Monitor market trends and provide insights to guide sales strategy.

Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer engagements.
2. Agronomic Support & Farmer Training

Provide on-farm agronomic support and technical advice to farmers on best practices for seed selection, planting, crop management, pest/disease control, and harvesting.

Facilitate training sessions for farmers, agro-dealers, and extension agents on climate-smart agriculture and AMAC technologies.

Monitor demonstration plots and compile agronomic performance reports.
3. Stakeholder Engagement

Represent AMAC Seed Zambia Limited at expos, agricultural shows, and field events.

Collaborate with Ministry of Agriculture staff, research institutions, NGOs, and farmer organizations for joint outreach and technology transfer activities.

Support public-private partnerships and innovation platforms promoting AMAC seeds.
4. Reporting & Administration

Submit timely reports on sales, field visits, farmer feedback, and competitor activities.

Participate in weekly and monthly planning meetings with the Sales & Marketing team.

Manage field inventory of promotional materials, demo seeds, and point-of-sale branding.
5. Compliance & Professional Conduct

Adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and occupational health and safety regulations.

Maintain professional membership and active status with the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ).

Ensure that all qualifications are updated and recognized by ZAQA for professional integrity and credibility.
6. Qualifications and Requirements
-
Minimum Academic Qualification
: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field (ZAQA-certified).

Professional Membership
: Registered with the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ).

Experience
: 2–5 years of progressive experience in seed marketing, agronomic extension, or sales.

License
: Valid driver’s license (manual transmission).

Other Requirements
: Ability to work with minimal supervision, willingness to travel extensively across assigned provinces, and fluency in English and at least one local language (Bemba, Lenje, or Lamba preferred).
