We are Hanhe Industry Zambia Limited, a Mining and Principal contractor of Kokola Copper Mine – Nchanga Open Pit Mine. Our operations include copper mining and tramming at Kansanshi Mine in Solwezi and Lumwana Mine in Kalumbila District, North-Western Province, Zambia. Sectional Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
-
Oversee all engineering and maintenance activities within the assigned section.

Ensure the continuous availability of critical equipment

Implement and monitor planned maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.

Collaborate with production teams to align engineering objectives with operational goals.
Safety and Compliance
-
Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations as per company policies and Mining Regulation Laws.

Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of equipment and processes.

Develop and implement safety improvement plans for the engineering section.
Team Leadership
-
Supervise and mentor a team of artisans, technicians, and support staff.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and training programs to enhance team skills.

Manage workforce planning, including shifts, overtime, and leave schedules.
Technical Oversight
-
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize downtime.

Implement best practices in maintenance, repair, and equipment upgrades.
Reporting and Documentation
-
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and incident reports.

Provide detailed monthly and quarterly reports to senior management.

Ensure documentation of standard operating procedures and technical manuals.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Heavy Equipment Repair, or equivalent.

5+ years in a mining environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Must be a Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
