Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) Institutions under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS). As part of its process to provide quality service to its stakeholders, the institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

1.0 FINANCE DEPARTMENT

1.1 SENIOR ACCOUNTANT-FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

Job Purpose

To supervise the management of financial resources of the College in order to ensure their efficient and prudent utilization

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and submission of Financial reports Supervises payment process and signing of the payment documents
• Ensures that bank and payables reconciliations are prepared, reviewed and signed off monthly Supervises storage of Books of Accounts
• Manages the security of accountable documents in order to prevent unauthorized access and destruction
• Supervises and coordinates preparation of section and individual work plans in order to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of performance
• Supervises the utilization of human resources in the department in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/CIMA/ACCA and/or equivalent
• A Masters Degree in accountancy will be an added advantage
• At least 5 years working experience in a supervisory position
• Analytical and report writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer Literacy in accounting packages
• People Management Skills
