Job Summary:
Mulungushi Innovations is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. Your expertise in accounting practices will be essential for the financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against budgeted targets. Provide variance analysis and insights to management for informed decision-making.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections. Implement best practices for cash flow management.
Audit Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial records. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may affect the organization.
Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department and implement effective solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
