SENIOR ACCOUNTING OFFICER
AutoXpress Group is East Africa’s leading supplier of tyres, wheels, batteries, suspension parts, and alignment and balancing services with an existing regionwide network of close to 80 branches.We represent world-class brands extending superior service to our customers with an identifiable difference.We are looking to recruit a dynamic Senior Accounting Officer to join AutoXpress Zambia Ltd. Details of the position are outlined below.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting primarily to the Country Manager and the Group CFO, the person will be instrumental in overseeing a large aspect of the Company’s finance function to ensure proper management of all accounting systems and functions; maintaining financial records, preparation of various financial reports, oversee the formulation and in overall preparation of budgets and forecasts, dealing with all compliance matters relating to tax amongst other roles.
This position is based in Lusaka, Zambia.
An overview of the duties and responsibilities of the role are outlined as below:
a) Manage the routine operations of the entire activities of the receivables and payables functions in accordance with company policies,IFRS and best practice standards.
b) Manage the treasury function for cash and bank including preparing and monitoring regular cash flow forecasts.
c) Prepare monthly management, investor and board reports, other financial reports and ancillary schedules.
d) Develop and manage the company’s fixed assets register and capital expenditure reports.
e) Responsible for ensuring compliance for all statutory, tax, regulatory and internal compliance matters.
f) Assist in preparing annual, long-term budgets and forecasts projections as required.
g) Liaise with external and internal auditors on all audits related matters including any ZRA tax audits.
h) Review the internal controls and existing procedures, recommend, develop and implement various policies and procedures in line with best practices and with adherence to ISO and IFRS requirements.
i) Engage and manage external stakeholder relations such as landlords, bankers, vendors, etc
j) Assist in various other tasks and activities as may be required by the Country Manager and/or Group CFO.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
a) ACCA/Zambia CPA qualification or an equivalent academic education (and ideally with a Bachelor’s Degree) b) Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
c) Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office
d) Working knowledge of Zambia tax laws
e) Working knowledge of ERP (preferably SAP B1/SAP S/4 Hana ) will be an added advantage
f) Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
g) Must be a Zambian Citizen or permanent resident
