As a safety-conscious Senior Auto Electrician, who is passionate about problem-solving, teamwork, efficiency, and quality of service, you will lead auto electrical works, diagnose, and repair vehicle faults and provide solutions to clients while upholding Kokeb’s values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
What You’ll Do
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

Conduct automotive electrical and electronic system diagnostic scans using tools (e.g. oscilloscopes, CAN bus analysers).

Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and error codes.

Physically check ignition, lighting, engine performance, and battery to identify faults.
Repair and Maintenance

Repair and replace electrical components such as alternators, starters, and ECUs.

Maintain and upgrade electrical systems as per the customer requirements.

Set electrical repair standards, develop checklists, and approve, guide, and verify the repair and replacement of electrical components.

Sign-off electrical repair and maintenance jobs and audit junior electrician/apprentice works for adherence to specifications, repair standards, maintenance checklists, and procedures.

Maintain accurate repair and maintenance documentation.
Installations and Configuration

Install new electrical components and electronic systems such as GPS, alarms, and reverse cameras.

Program and perform calibrations on vehicle control units and electric modules to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Performance Management

Lead electrical troubleshooting discussions and assign daily tasks to team members.

Motivate, counsel, and increase electrical maintenance and repair knowledge among electrical team members.

Evaluate electrical team performance and recommend capacity needs to supervisor.
Quality Control and Compliance Management

Perform final checks on electrical works before vehicle release.

Maintain vehicle diagnostic findings for purposes of building internal knowledge on nature and frequency of faults.
Customer and Interdepartmental Interaction

Explain electrical issues clearly to facilitate customer decision making.

Recommend repair alternatives based on safety, cost, and longevity.

Handle customer complaints with respect and escalate to supervisor if need be.

Seamlessly work with mechanics, technical, and non-technical staff to achieve company goals.
Who You Are

Qualifications: Diploma in Auto Electrical (Degree is a plus).

Experience: 3 years in a busy state-of-the-art workshop (repairing heavy and light-duty vehicles).

Self Starter: Proactive, curious, self-driven, and ready to challenge norms.

Tech Savvy: Proficient with diagnostics software; eager to learn new tools.

Excellent Communicator: Ability to interact with customers and other staff; team-oriented.

Customer Centric: Understands the importance of client relationships and reliable delivery.

Certification (e.g., EIZ) is an advantage.
