Our client in Kitwe is looking for a Senior Electrical Project Manager to join their team for a job vacancy with the Solar industry.

Job Title: SENIOR ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Reports to: MANAGING DIRECTOR

Location: KITWE, COPPERBELT PROVINCE – ZAMBIA

Job Summary:

We seek an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead complex electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

1. Oversee electrical projects from initiation to handover.
2. Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
3. Electrical design, scoping and costing.
4. Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
5. Manage project risks, issues, and changes.
6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, construction).

Technical Leadership:

1. Provide electrical engineering expertise (design, installation, testing).
2. Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, and estimates.
3. Ensure compliance with industry standards
4. Problem solving and ratifications.

Team Management:

1. Lead and mentor project teams
2. Develop and manage project team members’ performance.
3. Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration.

Stakeholder Management:

1. Communicate project status, plans, and changes to stakeholders.
2. Manage client relationships and expectations.
3. Coordinate and manage with vendors, contractors, and subcontractors.

Business Development:

1. Identify new business opportunities and support proposal development.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum Electrical Engineering NQF 1-3, Project Management Diploma.
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Qualification and or experience renewables energy (Solar) will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of electrical project management experience.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.

Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Electrical engineering expertise (design, installation, testing).
• Project management certifications.
• Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Asana, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Certifications:

• Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) certification.
• Project Management Certifications
• Police Clearance Certificate
• Valid Medical Certificate of good health.
