GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and optimization of our company’s network infrastructure. IT team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s network infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies and a commitment to ensuring network reliability, security, and performance. This includes tasks like setting up, configuring, and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Ensure that data can flow efficiently and securely between different parts of the network.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs and maintains the Universities entire network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, telephony, closed circuit television, and access points.

Responsible for the proper design and configurations of routers, switches, VLANs, router protocols and ports

Responsible for the proper setup and configurations of security policies and bandwidth shaping of University perimeter firewall

Responsible for monitoring network availability and throughput using tools such as PRTG Network Monitor

Ensure appropriate router access rights and necessary ports are setup to allow required traffic to enter and leave the network

Responsible for the design, planning and running of network data cables, patch panel management,
-
Ensure the proper functioning of the PBX, call manager and tracking of calls
-
Measures and optimizes network performance and ensures core network security while troubleshooting any network-related issues.

Work hand-in-glove with the senior systems administrator

Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in IT administration.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field would be advantageous.

Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, TCP/IP, and network security practices.

Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Networtk+) are advantageous
