Job Purpose
The Senior Quality and Safety Assurance Officer will provide support in risk management activities and in the review of safety and quality program effectiveness in all operational areas of flight operations, aircraft maintenance and occupational safety, health and environment to ensure airline comply with all related regulatory requirements. Formulate and promulgate aviation quality assurance and standardization procedures and policies. Manage air carriers’ registration process to ensure compliance with the set standards for aircraft airworthiness, aircrew qualifications, training, maintenance, and safety programme
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in carrying out safety and Quality inspections.
- Assist in monitoring safety and quality performance in flight operations and aircraft maintenance activities.
- Identify hazards and mitigation measures in operational areas.
- Assist in review of safety and quality reports and recommendations.
- Assist in the review, compiling of operational manuals.
- Assist in the day today quality management systems at various levels of operations.
- Assist in the undertaking of internal and external audit programs.
- Assist in the data collection, compiling, analysis and review of safety/Quality reports to identify areas of potential non-compliance.
- Help in the management of risk register updates and follow ups and ensure that corporate risk register is well managed.
- Support, maintain policies and procedures to align with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and educate staff on compliance matters

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Form V /Grade 12 Certificate with minimum of five (5) “O” Levels with credits including English and Mathematics.
- BEng/BSc in Aircraft Maintenance or Electronic engineering or equivalent.
- Qualification in safety and health is added advanta ge.
- Must have a minimum of at least 4-6 years’ experience in aviation industry under Quality and Safety Assurance
- Must be a holder of a valid Aircraft Engineers License
- Familiarity with Zambia Civil Aviation Requirements (ZCARs) and ICAO Convention, functions, standards and recommended practices, and public health regulations.
- Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) with a current Engineers Registration Board (ERB) practicing licence.
