Job Description
Our client, an established multidisciplinary and respected general contractor that offers building, civils, roads and earthworks capabilities to clients are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The quantity surveyor will manage and control project costs throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial planning to completion. He / She will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring projects stay within financial constraints.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the successful overall commercial completion of a contract,
including maximization of revenue.

Effective forecasting of project and ensure financial efficiency throughout
the project lifecycle.

Cost calculation and reconciliation, including stringent cost control and
associated payments procedures.

Ensure contractual rights and obligations are met, both from the main
contracting as well as subcontracting perspective.

Coach and develop subordinates across the board responsible for
producing cost reports.

Negotiate with contractors and suppliers regarding project costs and
payments.

Assist in preparing tender documents, contracts, and agreements.

Conduct risk analysis for projects and advise on potential financial risks.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals involved in
the project.

Provide accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders.

Keep abreast of market trends and pricing changes.
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Must be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction
management, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in construction, preferably with a
main contractor.

Valid membership with ZIQS.

Proven track record of successful project cost management and budgeting.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract law, and procurement methods.

Excellent analytical and numerical skills.

Proficient in relevant software such as Cost X, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
-
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight
deadlines.
