EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
In line with our aim to effectively contribute to sustainable economic growth through the promotion, development, training and regulation of the Zambian Construction Industry, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated staff to fill the following positions:
SENIOR TRAINING OFFICER – ROADS GRADE NCC 4.2
Reporting directly to the Training Manger, the job holder will prepare and deliver lectures and tutor students studying building/road construction/ research and consultancy courses to enable them qualify or pass their examinations.
Main Duties

Prepare teaching plan/scheme of work for each course or programme in which he/she is teaching upon receipt of syllabus from the Senior Training Officer

Prepare lecture notes and handouts from various materials available in the resource Centre, syllabi, internet and other publications that are useful to students to assist them acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.

Deliver lectures and tutors students taking construction courses according to assigned subjects, using appropriate teaching methods and aids as necessary to enable students comprehend what is being taught.

Conduct practical training on building and/or road construction site

Set, administer and mark tests, assignments and class work aimed at gauging the level of understanding and progression of each student

Prepare end of course examinations and invigilates examinations.

Participate in the Council’s consulting assignments in his/her area of specialization as and when requested by management

Handle student complaints and counsels students having learning difficulties and other problems, so that they can pick up and improve their performance.

Prepare internal progress reports for students under his/her tutelage after evaluating their performance through class tests, class work and assignments;

Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

Grade 12 School Certificate
-
Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Quantity Surveying
-
Member of EIZ and/or SIZ, ZIA, etc.

Certificate in Teaching Methodology
-
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience
