Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, clean, and analyse data from various sources within the mine.

Develop and maintain data dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.

Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in mining processes.

Implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from disparate systems and sources.

Assist in the design and implementation of data collection systems and data quality control procedures.

Translate complex data findings into clear and concise reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work closely with the Data Superintendent to prioritize data projects that align with business improvement goals.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and mining operations.
Job Specific Competencies

Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse complex data sets and assist drive data-influenced decisions.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

At least 3 years’ proven experience in mining or associated industries with a track-record of delivering recognised projects
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, BSc Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Microsoft Certified Data Engineer an added advantage.
