Job Description
Purpose
To be responsible for conducting comprehensive training for Kansanshi Mining Plc (KMP) employees and designated contractors on Excavator & Shovel operations by the KMP Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
-
Planning for daily activities in line with the approved training plan & schedule.
-
Conducting training in line with the Operator Training Process and Training Path.
-
Conducting assessments in line with the assessment procedure.
-
Instilling the culture of KMP Safety Standards during training.
-
Complete all documentation to a high standard and submitted timeously.
-
Monitor and ensure that the training hours are completed by each trainee to ensure adherence to the Training Path.

Administrate and record learning progress accurately and timeously.
-
Coaching & Mentoring Learners.

Ensure that all training is in line with the company’s approved procedures.

Liaising and planning with the supervisors to minimise the negative impact on production during practical training.

Ensure that all training documents are signed off by relevant stakeholders.

Conduct infield observation and refresher training on operators to enhance skills.
-
Ensuring that the learners’ identified skills gaps are closed.

Demonstrate high levels of knowledge in WENCO systems operations.
-
To competently use learning management systems (INX).
-
Reporting all lapses to the supervisor during training.
-
Any other duties as may be reasonably assigned to you.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of a Grade 12 School Certificate
-
Valid driving licence.
-
Certificate in Teaching Methodology
-
Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
-
Valid first aid certificate
-
Blasting licence is an added advantage
-
A diploma in a Mining-related field would be an added advantage.
Experience
-
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the mining industry at operator level.
-
A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating excavators & shovels in a very busy mine environment
-
Experience on Hitachi or Liebherr equipment would be an added advantage.
