Job Description:

Nexus Zambia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to design and oversee the construction of buildings and other structures in Lusaka. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and stability of structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and analyze structural elements and systems.
Prepare detailed structural drawings and specifications.
Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with designs.
Perform structural calculations and simulations.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Prepare and present structural reports and documentation.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Structural Engineer or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Proficiency in structural engineering software and MS Office.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; professional certification (e.g., EIZ) preferred.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Attention to detail and project management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience:

At least 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering.
