Job description:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

To work in a team environment.

Supervise and manage the team and material requirements.
-
Ensuring shutdowns are planned and executed in a professional manner
-
Ensure the highest possible rock breaker availability possible.
-
Identifying and implementing Improvements in the maintenance and repair of the rock breaker equipment to improve availability.
-
Responsible for all equipment and facilities breakdowns, corrective actions and counter-measures.
-
Minimize rework.
-
A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, strong communication skills and a flexible “can do” work ethic.
-
Assist develop Continuous Improvement and Condition Monitoring effectiveness.
-
Drive availability improvement and attention to detail.
-
Managing on site the team and third party sub-contractors ensuring they complete tasks on time and safely to required standards
-
To keep up to date with and have an awareness of new products and new improved working methods that can add value by improving quality and reducing costs
-
Compliance to work order attachments and documents such as JSA’s, Work Procedure’s, SWI’s, etc.
-
Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained
-
Full compliance with mandatory PPE requirements in all areas of the plant.

Other duties as defined by Management.

Must have experience with and have maintained machinery operated or in conjunction with hydraulic systems.

Experience required to perform in this job:
-
Applicant must have 5 years’ mechanical experience with 1 years’ experience in supervising a team of artisans.
-
It is important that the applicant has a firm understanding of hydraulic machinery
-
Must have previous shift work experience.
-
Must have experience with and have maintained machinery operated or in conjunction with hydraulic systems.
-
Experience on crushers and rock breakers will be an advantage.
-
Shutdown Planning and Supervision will be an advantage though not vital.
-
Literacy in M/S Outlook, Excel, Word.
Qualifications:
-
Grade 12 Certificate
-
Diploma in relevant field
-
A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
-
Valid Zambian Driver’s License
-
Experience in the maintaining of earth moving equipment is beneficial.
-
Hydraulic systems maintenance knowledge and understanding are highly recommended.
