Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of ICT systems, ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure. Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, installing and configuring software, hardware and networks. The position reports directly to the Managing Director and will be based at our Kitwe Office.
Core Responsibilities

Organize and implement the servicing, support, and maintenance of all ICT systems across the organization.

Evaluate organizational outcomes to identify IT-related challenges, and recommend strategies, policies, and procedures to improve information technology operations.

Design and develop applications and database architecture, write efficient code, and validate data acquisition methods and output formats.

Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot database systems used by core business applications, including Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.

Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and ensure that ICT databases are consistently updated to reflect infrastructure changes.

Monitor system performance and ensure software, including antivirus tools, is updated regularly to meet operational and security requirements.

Conduct daily system checks to verify the integrity and availability of hardware, servers, and key processes; review system/application logs and confirm the successful completion of scheduled tasks such as data backups.

Develop and execute Transact-SQL queries to extract data and generate reports using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and Pentaho.

Diagnose and resolve system issues and outages to ensure minimal downtime.

Implement and manage security measures, including access controls, data backups, and firewall configurations.

Perform system upgrades, including the deployment of new hardware, software releases, and system models.

Acquire in-depth knowledge of new technologies and provide training and support to staff as needed.

Create and maintain an internal knowledge base (wiki), including technical documentation, user manuals, and IT policy guidelines.

Manage and monitor the organization’s social media accounts to ensure consistent branding and engagement.

Carry out any other duties as assigned by the ICT Manager.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent from a reputable institution.

Proficiency in using modern database management systems such as MS SQL and Mysql.

Previous experience working as a Systems and IT Administrator

Comprehensive understanding of the Fintech Industry

Proficiency with programming tools and languages
