Job Description
Location: Lusaka
The IT infrastructure intern provides support in various tasks and projects, gaining practical experience in the field of enterprise IT. They assist in troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the organization’s technology resources.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist end-users with technical issues, including hardware and software problems.

Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise IT related problems.

Provide basic technical assistance via phone, email, or in person.

Help with routine maintenance and updates of computing systems and software
-
Perform system backups and data recovery procedures
-
Install, configure, and update software and operating systems.
-
Maintain documentation of hardware and software inventory.
-
Create and update IT procedures, manuals, and knowledge base articles
-
Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.

Research and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations.
Requirements and qualifications

Hardware administration certifications in any of the hardware vendors like Oracle, IBM, HP, NetApp or Dell/EMC preferred.

Hardware knowledge of servers and enterprise storage systems

Must have System Administration knowledge of either Red Hat Linux or at least one of the Unix Operating Systems e.g. Oracle Solaris or IBM AIX. Those with extensive Linux experience will be considered

Knowledge of database systems is an added advantage.

Must be willing to work at odd hours as work demand

Ability to write reports such as Root Cause Analysis

Must have good customer relations

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any relevant field

Graduated within the past 4 years
