Job Description Key Purpose Statement

To manage the execution of the operational requirements of the warehouse in support of the logistics strategy efficiently and cost-effectively so that service excellence to other departments and the customer can be ensured.

Key Duties & Responsibilities PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Manage the Operational team in the execution of all inbound and outbound movement
  • Manage the team in terms of stock management and inventory accuracy
  • Manage an effective and accurate Production Interface
  • Manage all tasks within the standards of excellent housekeeping
  • Manage the effective care for Company assets within the team
  • Drive good product quality
  • Manage the effective execution of system transactions and perform end-of-shift reconciliations
  • Implement activity-based resourcing
  • People management: Manage team and own performance
  • Drive effective Financial Management of areas impacting Warehouse and Distribution cost
  • Leverage information systems to drive the achievement of Operational Key Performance Indicators
  • Compliance to governance controls in all areas within the team
Skills, Experience & Education REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Relevant Supply Chain Degree 3-year relevant equivalent
  • Membership in professional supply chain or procurement bodies would be advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of warehousing and/ or logistics experience in an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of Eoster would be advantageous.
General COMPETENCIES

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of all Warehouse Processes (and accountable parties) and understanding of inter-relationships between processes
  • Deep understanding of the Settlement, Proof of Delivery and Stock Management Processes
  • Deep insight into warehouse performance measures and levers that impact on the achievement of measures

Skills:

  • Sound management of employee relations and the creation of a healthy IR climate
  • Effective coaching ability
  • Effective team management through team and individual development

Attributes/Attitudes:

  • Strong conflict resolution ability
  • Good attention to detail and high focus on accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
