The Maltings Team Leader leads the Operators and Shift Artisans in the execution of the production plan, executing the in-process quality control and analyses, the carrying out of autonomous maintenance tasks and the resolution of production problems.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Co-ordinate all autonomous maintenance, cleaning and inspection activities of all production equipment and machines

Monitor and Optimise all production processes to achieve high throughput and best product quality.

Prepare and timely communicate production plan for all production shifts

Support production teams to improve process quality and productivity

Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment

Communicate effectively in the workplace using MCRS tools
-
Apply appropriate problem solving and decision making techniques and principles such as QFRs, 5Whys, AB Reports, ITF and PDCAs
-
Coach production staff on problem solving

Facilitate effective team dynamics through use of tools such as Autonomous Teams

Implement performance management

Communicate effectively in the work place

Contribute to self and team development

Coaching

Develop employees through use of tools such as SKAP, Workday Trainings etc.

Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate within production department

Manage and apply personnel practices

Implement safety, health & environmental legislation and procedures

Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

Availability and appropriate use of protective clothing by production staff ensured
Profile:
-
Min – Diploma in Science related field ,BSc in Science or Engineering with Diploma in Brewing or Malting (IBD)

Min – 3 months on the job training
-
Ideal – 6 months on the job training
-
1 years experience in a malting environment
-
Previous experience in a process controlled manufacturing environment, ideally in food FMCG products.
