Job description:
PURPOSE
Provide technical expertise in the management of the mining fleet components and rotables workshop
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function;

Provide technical guidance and expertise to the maintenance personnel and provide opportunities for continuous improvement;

Assist in the on-going development and compliance of the departmental, particularly in his/her area of influence, as well as company objectives and strategic plans;

Ensure Environmental controls are given consideration to perform tasks related to Inspection, Planned/Unplanned Maintenance events;

Provide mentoring and coaching support to the Supervisors to ensure they understand shift priorities and can direct the team as needed.

Adhere to safe working procedures for all work areas.

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times.

Perform inspections on completed jobs.

Review of weekly plans and ensure that they are realistic and achievable.

Support continuous improvement processes.
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in fleet maintenance.

Provide direction to the Foreman and the maintenance crew.

Actively participate in all section activities which include toolbox meetings and shift handover communication to promote excellence in communications.

Provide technical advice for existing equipment and Development projects.

Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Grade 12 Certificate
-
Diploma in Heavy Equipment Engineering or any related tertiary qualification from a recognized institution.

Member of EIZ
-
Driving License
EXPERIENCE
-
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a related role
-
Must have vast experience dealing with Mobile mining equipment component rebuilds and repairs
-
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Ability to achieve result in a cross cultural environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Ability to work with MS Packages
-
Ability be able to read, analyse and utilize machine health systems such as Ready-Line, Power BI based systems and Machine on-board systems is an added advantage
