Reports To: Accounting Manager
Job Summary: M&J Zambia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and assisting with audits and budget preparation. This position requires a high level of accuracy and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and record transactions in ledgers and journals.
Prepare bank deposits and manage reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Handle accounts payable and receivable duties.
Verify and process invoices and maintain vendor files.
Assist with tax computations and returns.
Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Support the Accounting Manager and other team members with various finance-related tasks.
Help in preparing for audits and identifying any discrepancies.
Manage payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.
Qualifications and Skills:
At least a Grade 12 Certificate with a pass in Accounting.
Good computer skills.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
