Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of
Trainer – Heavy Duty and Automotive Mechanic

Reporting to the Coordinator Maintenance Training, you will be responsible for the conducting and identifying training needs, designing, delivering training programs, creating of teaching plans and evaluating their effectiveness. You will be instrumental in developing instructional material to ensure employees’ growth aligns with Company goals.
Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

Apply training systems to enable Line Managers to ensure their team members and contractors are trained and assessed as competent prior to assigning specific tasks.

Provide all training support to agreed cost, quality, quantity, and schedule.
-
To source appropriate training material and utilize all resources necessary to provide a cost effective and functional training matrix.

To conduct technical training, maintenance, and safety training
-
Align training systems and processes with overall site-wide training standards.
-
Establish safe operating procedures for all major tasks and operations within Maintenance Section/Department.

Ensure accurate training and competency records are maintained for all personnel under Maintenance Section/Department.

Collect and analyse information to assess performance statistics, statutory requirements, systems efficiencies and business improvement initiatives.

Ensure compliance with company objectives, policies, procedures, safe work practices, and relevant regulations.

Provide the necessary training resources and support to enable all members of staff under process department to perform at an optimum level.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
-
minimum Advanced Certificate in Heavy Repair Engineering/Automotive Mechanic or any relevant discipline.
-
Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment/ Train the Trainer training qualification (or equivalent)
-
In possession of Teaching Methodology Diploma
-
Accreditation as Trainer /Assessor is an added advantage.
-
Member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a training or supervisory role in a large scale Mine
-
Experience in a similar Training role
-
Competent in incident/accident investigation
-
Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
-
Holder of a valid driver’s license
